AI Hackathon 2025
The 2025 AI Hackathon is right around the corner!
From 12 August, this exciting event will run across multiple locations nationwide. As we push toward the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, now more than ever, collaboration and innovation are important to tackle global challenges through technology.
The Hackathon invites participants of all ages to explore, learn, and connect in a welcoming environment that promotes the use of AI for good. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, the Hackathon is a safe space for everyone to contribute and make an impact.
TAIAO will be joining the Waikato session on August 14–15.

Artificial Intelligence for Earth and Environmental Science
The Pacific Rim International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (PRICAI) is coming to New Zealand later this year. An annual international event, PRICAI is dedicated to exploring AI theories, technologies, and applications across areas of scientific, social, and economic importance for the Pacific Rim. Over the years, it has been hosted in locations across the world including Japan, Vietnam, China, Thailand, Fiji and Australia.
During the conference, TAIAO will be hosting the Artificial Intelligence for Earth and Environmental Science workshop which will explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in advancing environmental science. The workshop will serve as a platform to foster interdisciplinary collaboration between AI researchers, environmental scientists, policymakers, and industry professionals.

Another upcoming event which will be of interest to our community is the Aotearoa AI Summit which will be held at Shed 10 on Auckland’s Viaduct on September 18.
The Summit is New Zealand’s essential AI event, uniting industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and innovators to explore cutting-edge advancements and real-world applications of AI.
